The days are getting longer and the nights warmer, which means it’s time to start thinking about all the lovely summer things to do while staying with us at The Victoria Inn. Imagine a weekend away, just you and your beloved, or you and your family – or even better, imagine a real summer vacation, just whiling away the hours in Calaveras County at some of these fun events, with plenty of relaxation in between.
You won’t want to miss all the excellent live music near Murphys. Every Monday night from 6-8pm, Vino Metate in Angels Camp presents a “Musical Mashup” with Nicolas Lefler. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated. In Murphys, Alchemy Market and Cafe has Matt Cullen every Friday on the patio from 5:30-8 pm. Come and dance!
Through May 14, The Black Bart Playhouse presents Speed-the-Plow By David Mamet, a quick-witted satire of Hollywood. Tickets are $20 for students and seniors, $22 for adults. Sierra Repertory Theatre in Sonora has shows all summer long. The Fantasticks starts on May 12th. Admission ranges from $18 for children 17 and under to $28-$35 for general admission.
Of course, the most well-known event is the Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee, May 18-21, 2017. Frog-jumping is a big part of the fair, but there are also concerts, pageants, live shows, Native American demonstrations and so much more!
Come to Calaveras County and enjoy the fun of early summer!
